Newspaper House
247 Collins Street, Melbourne, 3000.
The Newspaper House sign dates from 1933, and is possibly the oldest surviving dated neon sign in Melbourne.
The sign is unique on account of being built into the stone façade of the building. The sign is indicated in the architect's plans for the building. The sign's design is simple: Neon tubing spells out "NEWSPAPER HOUSE".
The sign is no longer in working order.
